How we verify each guide
Each guide is published only after every fact on it has been checked against an official source.
Sources we accept
- The filing office's own website, forms and fee schedules.
- The state statute or regulation that sets the rule.
Secondary sources can point us to a rule, but a fact is published only once the official source confirms it.
What every page shows
- A link to each source, with the date it was accessed.
- The date the page was last verified.
- What the official search does not cover, so a clear result isn't mistaken for approval.
Keeping pages current
An automated check visits every official link each week and flags any that break. Fees are reviewed early each January and July, when many changes take effect, and each page is re-verified on a rotating schedule.
